From time to time some times all we need to freshen a room up and some new bathroom flooring does just that, but this local client come to us with a simple problem we all come across, they had carpet in a bath room, it was getting old and trapping the water when getting out the shower, they wanted to make the flooring water proof and also make it a little more modern, but also needed it done asap, and not too slippery underfoot…….
The original idea was something dark from the customer, slate or tiles because they didn’t have any preference really, was open to some ideas from us as well,
So with the help of our friends over at next day flooring we ordered some samples, straight in the post and to me the following day, back around that afternoon to show the customers the samples they had requested, but also included a few things that I though may work as well.
Now slate and tiles in vinyl works very well all over the house not just in the kitchen, I have fitted many types of flooring like that in the bathroom as well, but with a lot of black and white tiles in the bathroom already it was nice to offer them something different like the wood effect.
The one they choose in the end was perfect, slightly grey and blue shades with in the grain so its not to dark, but the main thing was the texture of the vinyl, its very much like wood and the grain is raised, it works perfectly for bathrooms because its not slippery like normal slate or tile effect vinyl.
So with that we got to work, ordered the vinyl and it was here the following morning
Cleaned up the bathroom, taking the old carpet out, toilet and pedistol was removed as it makes a better job to sit them back on top of the vinyl and more water proof, the fibre board was layed down to create a softer flatter surface, vinyl layed down and put in to place before being glued and cut around the edges, toilet seat and pedistol back in place a quick bead of sealer around the edges and all finished
